Flutes and Reeds, Kaza Concrete
Designed by Brooklyn, N.Y.–based architecture studio GRT Architects for Hungarian manufacturer Kaza Concrete, the Flutes and Reeds collection of cast concrete tiles is a tribute to classical architectural elements. This modern take on antiquity can be arranged in numerous configurations using triangular tiles: Think of it as a large puzzle, with modules that can create a fluted or a reeded column. When arranged in a standard layout, the surface is reminiscent of ancient Greek architectural elements. When rotated in 120 degrees increments, the tiles form 3D surfaces with abstract patterns. These stain- and moisture-resistant tiles are made mostly of fiber-reinforced concrete mixture and marble powder, and are colored with powdered pigments. The line comes in four different designs, a matte or glossy finish, and in six metallic and 24 base colors. Grouting is not required. kaza.com
