Product: Nanimarquina Bicicleta

What happens to bicycle tire tubes at the—often abrupt—end of their useful lives? They’re typically tossed into landfills and trash dumps. Inspired by a trip to India, where bicycling is a popular mode of transportation, Spanish rug designer Nanimarquina researched the process of repurposing the rubber inner tubes to create Bicicleta, a 170cm-by-240cm rug made entirely from recycled materials—130 to 140 bicycle tubes to be exact. nanimarquina.com
