Sustainable design is a holistic process and weighing the attributes and shortcomings of so-called green products is just one part of it. To keep you up-to-date with the latest in sustainable product development, we’ll be compiling a weekly lineup of new green products and technology that caught our eyes. This week, we’re highlighting products that improve the efficiency of interior spaces without sacrificing aesthetics, which include wall panels made of recycled wood fibers and an energy-management system tailored to the needs of small, high-traffic spaces. Do you have a product or technology you’d like us to consider? Send product specs and hi-res images to [email protected].

Bouclé, Chilewich Contract
Chilewich Contract is adding a suite of vivacious colors to its Bouclé collection launched earlier this year, helping designers brighten up commercial spaces. Designed to emulate the luxe look of fine knitwear, the series is available for use as wall textiles and flooring tiles in indoor and outdoor applications. Previously available only in four neutrals, the pattern is now offered in citron, mélange, orange, pink, and turquoise. chilewich.com

Bruno LED luminaires, Peerless
A streamlined frame and optimized illumination are ideal for luminaires in contract applications where copious light is required with minimal obstruction. From Peerless, Bruno LED luminaires can be suspended or wall-mounted and include a driver that is fully dimmable to black. An integrated sensor detects occupancy and daylight and adjusts the luminaires’ light levels accordingly. They can be synced with the company’s nLight modules to allow network connections that facilitate energy management. Direct and indirect diffusion LEDs with outputs spanning 1,800 lumens to 4,800 lumens are available, as are high-performance lenses, film, and reflectors. peerlesslighting.com

EnTouch Pro, EnTouch Controls
Even the smallest commercial buildings are subject to ebbs and flows in foot traffic, requiring agile management of HVAC systems to maintain consistent temperatures. EnTouch Pro, from the eponymous commercial energy-management systems provider, is tailored for use by businesses such as restaurants and retails stores that can experience drastic variations in interior environments as patrons continually pass through the front door. The Wi-Fi enabled system allows users to adjust, monitor, and detect multiple HVAC systems from a desktop or mobile device. A touchscreen thermostat interface includes security functions to let managers set heating and cooling temperature limits. The system can be synced with an occupancy sensor. entouchcontrols.com

The interlayer can be encased in the company’s Varia EcoResin panels, which are made from 40% pre-consumer recycled content and are Greenguard certified for indoor air quality, or pressed between two glass lites. 3-form.com
