Armstrong World Industries announced the winners of its inaugural Ideas 2 Reality (i2r) design competition, which was open to unbuilt (idea) or built (reality) projects that used Armstrong Commercial Ceiling & Flooring products. The competition was conducted in conjunction with the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Four winners were selected from nearly 140 submissions from across the U.S. The idea and reality winners in the Commercial Ceiling & Wall Systems category were, respectively: Dyer, Ind.-based Interior Image Group for Destinations, a café that incorporated an accent canopy in an indoor patio area; and Providence, R.I.-based Vision 3 Architects for integrating a contemporary wood and metal ceiling detail throughout NaviNet’s Beaux-Arts  headquarters building in Boston.

An online vote determined the idea winners, each of which will receive $2,500.
