Project Description
Hays Medical Office Building is a 103,000 s.f., 4-story facility to be located just outside of Austin in Kyle, Texas. The facility is designed to house a 14,000 s.f. ambulatory surgery center on the first floor, as well as the possible inclusion of a cancer treatment center. Special consideration was given to exterior materials (utilizing an EIFS skin) in order to complement an existing adjacent hospital.
GSRA achieved LEED Silver Certification for the core and shell portions of the project. Many of the finishes and fixtures were chosen for their sustainable features. Cork (rapidly renewable) products are being used as floor and wall materials in the double-volume entry lobby and common areas; low-flow toilet fixtures are utilized throughout; and a recycling room has been included in the first floor design.
