Acuity Brands Lighting revealed plans at Lightfair 2008 to increase the number of grants to Besal Scholars. The fund has a $200,000 endowment and is managed by the IESNA. In 25 years the fund has awarded $500,000 to more than 200 students studying the lighting industry.
