Jon Jerde, the founder of Los Angeles-based Jerde Partnership, has died. Jerde was elevated to the AIA’s College of Fellows in 1990, and received a B.Arch from the University of Southern California. Jerde was retired from the firm, according to a spokesperson. Los Angeles Times reports that Jerde died at home earlier today at the age of 75.
Jerde started the firm in 1977. His projects included Bellagio and Treasure Island in Las Vegas, Tokyo’s Roppongi Hills, and Universal CityWalk and the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
