As part of the 2012 Seattle Design Festival, the Seattle Architecture Foundation celebrates its 15th annual models exhibit, called Natural Systems / Emergent Forms with participating firms including those on this year's ARCHITECT 50, such as DLR Group, ZGF Architects, and Miller Hull Partnership. Located in the offices of firm Suyama Peterson Deguchi, the exhibit explores the connection between advances in technology and current popularity of interest in the earth's ecosystems—arguably the most primordial of systems. Yet the pair go hand in hand in architecture today, as firms figure out how to integrate the natural and the manmade. Through Oct. 7. • seattlearchitecture.org
