Washington, D.C.'s very own high-design ball pit opens to the public on Saturday, just in time for the city's July 4th festivities. Announced in April, "The Beach" at the National Building Museum was designed by New York's Snarkitecture, and features about one million translucent plastic balls as well as chairs and umbrellas for enjoying the view. The installation is open through Sept. 7.
