Foliage-Covered Apartments to Come to Stockholm’s Garden District

1 MIN READ

Stockholm, Sweden is about to get a set of new, green apartments. Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) has released plans for a “foliage-covered terraced” block of apartments which will go under construction in Stockholm’s Garden district. The project will cover 215,300 square feet and have 168 apartments. Each apartment will have a 180-degree view of the park that the buildings overlook, and have an open-plan kitchen, live area, and terrace.

To make it environmentally friendly, the buildings will be topped with foliage over the native Scandinavian trees, bushes, climbers, and flowers. The buildings will also allow for maximum use of natural light.

The first tenants of the apartments are expected to come at the end of 2017, upon the project’s completion.
