Flad Architects announced today that Jeffrey Zutz, AIA, has been appointed as its new president and chief executive officer, succeeding William Bula, AIA, who will continue working with the firm in a principal advisory position, according to a press release.

"Flad's culture of innovative and expertise-driven design will continue to be at the core of the firm as we move forward, as will our staff's dedication to creative problem-solving and exceptional client service," said the firm's release.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, Zutz joined Flad Architects in 1989 and has worked with the firm as a managing principal for the past 12 years. In that time, he developed and led interdisciplinary teams of architects, interior designers, planners, and consultants, and has worked with a wide range of clients, including Johnson & Johnson, Gilead Sciences, the City University of New York, Shire, Sentry Insurance, and Argonne and Idaho National Laboratories.

As Flad's new CEO, Zutz will be leading the firm's "strategic initiative to grow its global brand," noted the same press release.
