Menswear as Furniture from Jonathan Charles

A clothing-inspired furniture line is the brainchild of two furniture and clothing design firms

What do you get when you combine the craftsmanship of an antique furniture maker and a clothing designers’ fashion know-how? A menswear-inspired furniture collection riddled with less-than-subtle references to clothing types—a bow tie-shaped table, for example—and understated references to intricate designs—such as the line’s herringbone accented tabletops. Furniture maker Jonathan Charles’ and fashion designer Alexander Julian developed the 12-piece collection of tables and drawer chests using painted glass, inlaid wood, and visual texture to put a new spin on home décor.
