At Darling Homes' first community inside Houston's inner loop, the Taylor Morrison sister company has introduced a new collection of homes that will allow buyers to mix and match features from different levels of their favorite floor plans.

Dubbed the Vue, the concept will be piloted within three- and four-story homes at the Somerset Green development, and was fueled by proprietary research that showed consumers want more control over their homes' design. Buyers will be offered the option to select from a series of single-floor layouts, and stack them to create a plan that's ideal for their family's lifestyle.

“It’s a unique concept for us and one that Houston home buyers should find appealing,” says Amy Rino, division president for both Darling Homes and Taylor Morrison in Houston. “It gives them an opportunity to pair up their favorite layouts into one single-family home.”

The detached two- to five-bedroom homes in the gated community will offer 2,600 square feet to 3,000 square feet of living space, as well as access to the community's amenities, which include an on-site pool, entertainment area, and dog parks. Additional custom options include elevators, outdoor living space configurations, expanded storage options, and a fully-covered outdoor space on the fourth floor.

"Even with the urban setting, you get a sense and feel of living in your own private enclave,” says Rino of the development, which is convenient to urban destinations including downtown Houston, Memorial Park, Washington Corridor, the Heights, Buffalo Bayou Park, the Galleria, Uptown Park, and the Energy Corridor.

The company expects pre-sales to begin in early 2019, with a model home slated for completion in the spring. The homes will start from the low $700,000s.
