Mayors lead their cities, and now Trinity Simons will lead the mayors. On Monday, the Mayors’ Institute on City Design (MICD) named Simons, a former MICD program manager, its newest director.
Simons comes to MICD from Enterprise Community Partners in Wellesley, Mass., where she was a program officer for national design initiatives and director of the Rose Architectural Fellowship. Simons also worked with architecture students at her previous gig as the national vice president of the American Institute of Architects Students (AIAS).
“I'm delighted to return to this program and work with our nation's mayors and top designers to explore ways design can impact the health of our cities and regions," Simons said in a press release. She will help mayors to realize the potential of design in their cities as part of MICD, which is a National Endowment for the Arts leadership initiative in partnership with the United States Conference of Mayors and the American Architectural Foundation.
