Project Description
The Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple, one of the largest of its kind in the western hemisphere, is located on a ten-acre site in Frisco, Texas. The Temple and the Monumental Entrance Tower is designed in unique traditional south Indian Temple architectural style, which originated almost 2000 years ago in India. The design of the Temple and Tower is based on the “Agama Shastras”, or treatise on Hindu Temple architectural design, passed down for generations.
The 72’ tall, six-level, “Rajagopuram”, meaning monumental entrance gateway, serves as the main entrance to the Temple, oriented along the east-west axis. The main entrance, facing east, per temple design principles, allow the first rays of the morning sun to fall on the Sanctum Sanctorum. The Tower has windows centered along the vertical axis at each level, allowing sunlight to pass through the Tower. The tower capped with a barrel-vaulted cupola and gold finials serves as a beacon and landmark.
Symbolically, the Rajagopuram represents the feet of the temple’s presiding deity, Visitors humbly bow with positive thoughts, discarding ego, before entering the temple. The campus brings people together through prayer, meditation, yoga and social service to the Dallas-Fort Worth community.
