Project Description
Ellison Bronze, Inc., the inventor of the balanced door and provider of the highest-quality marquee entrances in the industry, offers its custom door systems to New York by Gehry at 8 Spruce Street in New York City. The stainless steel doors offer a timeless appeal that complements the building’s grand architecture, while providing unmatched durability.
New York by Gehry is the first New York City residential commission for architect Frank Gehry. Rising 870 feet above lower Manhattan, the 76-story building is one of the tallest residential towers in the Western Hemisphere. Gehry reinterpreted the traditional New York high rise and the structure stands out against neighboring buildings with its distinctive exterior façade. The skyscraper features curved stainless steel cladding that resembles vertical ripples, making it an iconic addition to the New York City skyline.
The Ellison entry doors lead into the lobby featuring Gehry’s signature honey-colored horizontal grain Douglas Fir walls and a Gehry-designed, organic-shaped concierge desk. New York by Gehry’s exterior folds creates 200 unique apartment floor plans and panoramic views. Gehry selected all the interior finishes and fixtures for the residences. Residents of New York by Gehry have access to 22,000 square feet of health, wellness, entertainment, social and outdoor amenity spaces.
