The internet loves the single-family house. But beyond being simply Pinterest-eye-candy, this typology holds an important distinction in the design world: it is one of most personalized forms of architecture there is. The Residential Architect Design Awards—now open for submissions—recognizes this unique architect-client relationship in two custom house categories: those with less than 3,000 square feet and those with more than 3,000 square feet.
