The 35th Annual IALD International Lighting Design Awards were presented May 9, 2018, during Lightfair in Chicago, at an evening program and reception held at the Revel Fulton Market. Seventeen projects—seven Awards of Excellence, eight Awards of Merit, and two Special Citations—were recognized from a field of international entries. The Radiance Award, the program’s highest honor, was presented to lighting design firm Licht Kunst Licht for the German Ivory Museum in Erbach, Germany.

Projects were reviewed, evaluated, and scored by a group of lighting and sustainability professionals at the International Association of Lighting Designer’s (IALD) headquarter offices in Chicago in December 2017. The seven jury members were as follows: Shawn Caldwell Alshut, RA, ASID, RID, Decatur, Ga.; Anne Bureau, IALD, Bordeaux, France; Tom Chalmers, London; Reiko Chikada, FIALD, Tokyo; Larry French, FIALD, Mill Valley, Calif.; Emily Klingensmith, IALD, Chicago; Catherine Leskowat, Assoc. IALD, Cambridge, Mass.
