Rockwell Group to Design the National Building Museum’s 2019 Summer Installation

"The Lawn" will be an immersive experience located in the Great Hall from July 4 through Sept. 2.

The National Building Museum announced in a tweet today that New York’s Rockwell Group will design its 2019 Summer Block Party installation. “The Lawn” will be the sixth installation in the museum’s annual summer series.

Previous installations featured in the Summer Block Party series include “Fun House” last summer and “The Beach” in 2015 by New York–based Snarkitecture, “Hive” in 2017 by Chicago-based Studio Gang, “Icebergs” in 2016 by New York–based James Corner Field Operations, and the”BIG Maze” in 2014 by Copenhagen, Denmark–based Bjarke Ingels Group.

“The Lawn” will be open to the public from July 4 through Sept. 2. Details and renderings of the installation have not been released yet.
