Registration opened today for the 2018 edition of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Conference on Architecture, scheduled for June 21 through 23 in New York City. (The AIA renamed its annual AIA Convention last year.)

This year's theme is Blueprint for Better Cities. "Looking ahead, architects need better principles and practices to address the crucial, even existential, issues now confronting our world. We need a blueprint for better," wrote 2018 AIA President Carl Elefante, FAIA, in ARCHITECT's January issue. Keynote speakers have yet to be announced.

Last year's Conference was held in Orlando, Fla., and included appearances by Francis Kéré, Hon. FAIA, Pritzker Prize winner Alejandro Aravena, and former First Lady Michelle Obama, among many others. (Catch up on all of ARCHITECT's AIA Conference 2017 coverage.)
