The United States economy added 4,200 jobs in architectural and engineering services in March, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in the latest monthly employment report, released today. The sector added 1,500 more jobs in March than it added in February. (February's data was revised from the initially reported 4,900 jobs added down to 2,700 jobs added.) The bureau also released more detailed information about the success and failure in February of individual industries within this architectural and engineering services sector.

Architectural services added 600 jobs in February, which is a slight acceleration of the growth in January. The bureau revised January's job growth from the initially reported 500 jobs added to 400 jobs added.

Landscape architectural services lost 200 jobs, the same amount lost in January. February was the fourth straight month of losses for the industry.

Engineering and drafting services added 2,400 jobs in February, which is 200 more jobs than the industry added in January. January's job growth was revised down from 2,800 jobs added to 2,200 jobs added.
